THE RACE Motorsports Club Phoenix National Slalom Series kicked off last Sunday at Robinsons Novaliches parking lot, with defending champion Milo Rivera of Tough Gear Racing opening his title bid on a winning note.
Rivera, a Philippine Sportswriters Association President’s Awardee in 2016, won the overall best time of the day, followed by Carlos Anton of Mark Young Cars and Dr. Peewee Mendiola of Team Big Chill
Rivera also grabbed the Production Wheel Best Time, even as Carlos Anton secured the Front Wheel Best Time and Ryan Ablang won the novice best clocking.
The first leg of the series also launched the Clubman Slalom event, wherein novice, clubman and car clubs, except professional drivers, can participate. This class does not have to do the 360-degree turn.
The 2017 RACE Motorsports Club National Slalom Series is presented by Phoenix Premium and Phoenix Accelerate fully synthetic oil and major sponsors Federal Tyres and Outlast Battery, Robinsons Novaliches and Robinsons Malls. It is also supported by Starbright Body Kits, Auto Transporter, media partners Stoplight TV, C! Magazine, Auto Car Magazine Magazine, Power Wheels Magazine, Ride and Drive Philippines, Driven2ride.ph and medical team AEROMED.
The event was participated in by Team Big Chill, Tough Gear Racing Team, Team Orthodox, IRM Autoshoppe, Autofastion Racing Team, Team GMW, Kajega Racing Team and Mark Young cars.
The second leg will be held on April 2 at Robinsons Starmills Pampanga, while the third leg is on May 7 at the NFA Compound Cabanatuan City.
