New York Film Academy in a seminar

Among the many institutions that have made New York a center of world-class education, the New York Film Academy (NYFA) stands out for being a true symbol of quality training and education in the art of film making.

Those whose interest and talent lie in film acting, producing or directing will have the opportunity to jumpstart a career in the film industry through proper education during a guidance and placement seminar on Dec. 1, 1 to 5 p.m., at the AIM Conference Center, Benavidez cor. Trasierra Sts. Legaspi Village, Makati City.

Dubbed “Study in New York, USA”, the educational event  will provide participants the chance to discover the New York Film Academy and other schools in New York state and learn important tips on how to enter these institutions.

The seminar will feature presentations from US Embassy representatives who will give information on studying in the New York area and discuss the student visa application process, while an Inter-Ed staff will explain various scholarships and admission guidelines and requirements. 

Recognized for its contributions to the  development of the film industry, the New York Film Academy has been credited for providing formal education and training to many famous international actors, actresses and directors whose talents and skills have been honed in the school.

The academy offers a wide range of specializations and subjects at the bachelor’s, master’s, professional and short course levels in such fields as film making, acting, producing, screenwriting, 3D animation, broadcast journalism, digital photography and game design.

It has gained renown for the quality and intensity of its program and for its classes that are focused on hands-on instructions that inspire creativity in each student who is given the opportunity to take an active role in class. 

Also available are programs in media studies, fine arts and documentary production.

Other participants in the “Study in New York,, USA” seminar are City College of New York, Long Island University-Brooklyn,  James Madison University, Roosevelt University,  Widener University, Merrimack University, University of Vermont, Texas A&M University (Corpus Christi campus) and Culinary Institute of America.

Although the seminar focuses on New York as an educational destination, Inter-Ed, the leading student placement center in the Philippines, also represents a long list of other prestigious colleges and universities located across the US.

During the event, applicants will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from several New York colleges and universities through one-on-one interviews by the admission staff from the New York Film Academy, City College of New York, Long Island University-Brooklyn, Culinary Institute of America, and other well-known American universities.
