The closest and brightest supermoon is set to appear on Monday night, November 14, 2016.
It is the closest supermoon since January 26, 1948 or 68 years ago.

This phenomenon happens when a full moon is closest to the Earth.
The moon appears to be 30 percent brighter and 14 percent bigger.
Perigee-syzygy is the scientific term for this celestial event.
PAGASA Astronomical Observation and Time Service Unit Chief Mario Raymundo says, the supermoon may be seen in the sky beginning at 7:21 pm.
He adds, the moon will shine brightest at 9:52 in the evening.
