The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold the 25th Visayas Area Business Conference (VABC) on Sept. 14 to 16 in Ormoc City in Leyte.
The conference is organized by the Ormoc Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Vice President Leni Robredo and Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino were invited to attend.
With the theme “Change is Here,” the three-day meet hopes to attract 500 delegates coming from various government agencies, local government units and the business community.
Jude Abenoja, OCCI president, said the VABC is an opportunity for island provinces to come together to promote Visayas as the next big investment bloc in the country.
Abenoja said the Visayas is in a better position to display its strengths to the investor community, following President Rodrigo Duterte’s agenda on region-wide economic development.
The conference will also be a venue for Eastern Visayas to prove its resilience in the aftermath of Super Typhoon “Yolanda,” he said.
Cabinet secretaries for agriculture, information and communications technology, tourism, trade and industry and science and technology have been invited as resource speakers, as well as business experts from the private sector.
