The President of the Philippines has joined the millions of Filipinos hoping to win the biggest lottery jackpot ever, the Palace said on Thursday as the prize money soared to P885 million.
Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said President Rodrigo Roa Duterte told him he took a chance to win big in the country’s Ultra Lotto 6/58.

“He said he placed a bet [on the lotto],” said Roque in a Palace press briefing Thursday.
“I heard of that news, so when I heard about it, I told my staff to place a bet in my stead too” he added, noting that there is a nearest lotto outlet near the Malacañang area.
According to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, the jackpot for the Ultra Lotto 6/58 is projected to hit P885 million by Saturday’s draw.
No lotto bettor was able to win the six-digit winning combination 30-41-53-04-02-54, which offered a prize of P849.578 million on Tuesday.
