Student-artist groups marked National Arts Month with a two-day open house festival, showcasing exhibitions, workshops, and an art mart.

The initiative, part of Pasinaya 2025 by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, was organized by the Benilde Arts Management (BeAM), the home organization of the Creative Industries Management Program of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) and the Center for Campus Art (CCA).

Art Punô, inspired by the Filipino word meaning “to be full of,” provided a space for young artists to engage in dialogue and explore various art forms. The event opened with a tour of the Design + Arts Campus, where visitors viewed capstone projects and installations. The Art Mart featured budget-friendly works in different mediums.

A collaborative painting session invited participants to contribute to a large canvas, while a hands-on workshop on claymation introduced attendees to stop-motion animation. Original works from DrawINK, the college’s comic organization, spanned genres such as mythology, romance, fantasy, thriller, and horror, with physical and digital copies available for viewing.

Game Design and Development students under the Gamers Union for Innovation and Leadership (GUILD) showcased video games tackling contemporary issues, playable on computers and VR equipment. Likha, under the Culture-Based Arts Program, held a mask-making workshop featuring patterns from traditional weaves and a wire décor session integrating heritage and modern design.

MediaMax, a team of Multimedia Arts students, conducted lectures on content creation, digital branding, and audience engagement. Karilyo, a group of visual artists, led a workshop on shadow puppetry and its techniques. Participants also joined a guided tour of Maria Taniguchi’s exhibition at MCAD, featuring her ongoing series of brick paintings.

The festival concluded with performances, including a dance piece by Benilde-X-perimental Dance and Aninag: Mga Tinig ng Tanghalan, a short play paying tribute to Filipino musicals.
