Most dependable cars – US survey

Two car models from Japanese luxury automaker Lexus recently topped the survey as the most dependable according to the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study.

Lexus GX and Lexus ES rated high in the J.D. Power 2021 study.
Now on its 32nd year, the study measures the number of problems original owners experienced from their three-year old vehicles during the past year. It covers 177 specific vehicular problems grouped into eight categories: audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN), engine/transmission, exterior, interior, features/controls/displays (FCD), driving experience, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and seats. The lower the score, the higher the vehicle is dependable.

Lexus scored 81 compared to the average of 121 which shows reliability and dependability of the brand. Specifically, the Lexus ES won in the best Compact Premium Car category while the Lexus GX won in the Midsize Premium SUV category. This is the ninth time in 10 years Lexus has ranked the highest among all car bands on dependability in this US Survey.

Lexus ES continues the expression of the brand’s design direction and commitment towards crafting vehicles with heightened excitement, emotion, and passion expanding that vision of the brand’s future to a broader audience. Traditional buyers will find the new ES more spacious, quieter, and safer than ever before while a new generation of customers will be introduced to a sedan with sharpened performance, class-leading safety technology, and a level of craftsmanship rarely found in this segment.

The Lexus GX is a versatile SUV which boasts comfort and luxury perfect for the city and the great outdoors. It features Adaptive Variable Suspension which adjusts whatever road it’s on, customized climate settings with built-in smog sensor, and seating for seven passengers with a third row which can lay flat to make room for more cargo.
