In a remarkable display of growth, GAC Motor Philippines has firmly established itself as the fastest-growing automotive brand in the country. Concluding the first quarter of 2024 with exceptional performance, the Astara-led GAC Motor recorded a staggering 274% year-on-year increase in retail sales. This accolade marks a significant milestone in Astara Philippines’ journey as a mobility company, just a year after becoming the distributor of GAC in the country.
According to GAC Motor Philippines, the brand sold an impressive 774 units from January to March 2024, significantly outpacing the industry’s total growth rate of 13% as reported by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Incorporated (CAMPI).

The surge in sales can be attributed to the increasing demand for GAC Motor’s diverse lineup, which includes popular models like the Emzoom, Empow, Emkoo, the GS8, and the latest additions to the local lineup, the M8 luxury MPV and the M6 Pro family MPV.
The brand’s expansion through its widening dealer network, which currently stands at 26 dealerships nationwide and is expected to reach 35 locations by the end of the year, has also contributed to the impressive sales growth.
Looking ahead, GAC Motor PH is preparing to launch its latest vehicle, the Emkoo Hybrid, in June. This electrified crossover features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine assisted by an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 322 PS and 480 Nm of torque, along with a claimed average fuel efficiency of 22.1 km/L.
As Astara Philippines continues to strengthen its partnership with GAC Motor International, the future looks bright for the brand’s continued success in the country.
