BORACAY — Jimmy Go, VST ECS president and CEO, said that digital transformation among businesses in the Philippines will continue to accelerate in the coming years.
Speaking at the CXO Innovation Summit 2022 media conference at the Shangri-La Resort here on Thursday, Go, whose company hosts the tech confab, said he expects PH businesses to innovate in order to cope with global recession, the weak peso and other economic woes.
“Business will continue to grow. There was a surge of consumer products like notebooks, smartphones and tablets during the early part of the pandemic. Now, there is a surge on enterprise equipment,” said Go, emphasizing that IT modernization initiatives will lead to digital transformation.
He continued: “I think this will continue until next year or 2024. Cybersecurity, networking, wifi, the whole digital transformation, is still going to continue. The first priority of most companies is to be successful.”
“During uncertain times, IT will no longer be considered as an operational expense, as technology will be considered as the strategic investment for survival and success of every enterprise,” Go added.
Following a virtual affair in 2021, the country’s biggest tech conference has returned last Tuesday as a face-to-face event to gather the world’s biggest tech brands and most influential IT leaders and help participants navigate the future of digital business in a post-pandemic world.
Earlier, Go told the vendors and delegates of the tech summit that his VST ECS, as the leading ICT distributor in the Philippines, can aid them in all of their efforts to modernize their IT infrastructure and digital transformation.
Also appearing in the four-day tech conference are digital decision makers and tech and solution experts tasked to exchange insights and build a tech roadmap to aid businesses and adapt to the evolving business landscape.
