MINI Asia and British United Automobiles Inc. (BUAI) today announced the launch of the MINI 3-Door in a specific special edition – the MINI Resolute Edition. This edition vehicle clearly emphasizes the individuality, traditional style, self-confidence, and unmistakable charisma of the original in the premium segment of the compact vehicle class.
MINI combines a thrilling drive with an unconventional appeal that is attractive to different target groups, characterized by its hallmark design and modern premium character. The MINI 3-Door with the classic MINI body concept and extended functionality stands for experience-oriented urban mobility in the 21st century.
The MINI Resolute Edition is offered exclusively in the Philippines as the Cooper S 3-Door. The exclusive design and equipment features of the Resolute Edition reinforce these hallmark characteristics of the MINI models, and combine them with modern, high-quality design accentuations. Exterior design features include both a traditional-style color scheme and an elimination of chrome elements, which will be a matter of course on future MINI models for reasons of sustainability. The Rebel Green exterior signals pure sportiness; this color was previously only available for the top athlete MINI John Cooper Works. This paintwork is combined with a Pepper White roof finish and matching Pepper White exterior mirror caps.
Signature design features are finished in exclusive Resolute Bronze – these cover the headlight surrounds, radiator grille and rear lights, side scuttles on the front side panels, handles of the doors and tailgate, air intakes in the front apron, and the fuel filler cap. The brand logos and model lettering provide an attractive contrast in Piano Black, as do the inner frame of the radiator grille, the tailpipe trim of the exhaust system, and the horizontal radiator grille strut. In addition, there is also a black strip running around the lower edge of the windows.
Both the bonnet stripes and the door sill panels of the MINI Resolute Edition feature a pattern of parallel lines with a color gradient between a light and a dark shade of gold as well as the lettering “RESOLUTE”. The asymmetrical design gives them a particularly high-quality and unconventional look in unique MINI style. The discreetly sporty appearance of the edition vehicles is completed by 18-inch alloy wheels in Pulse Spoke Black design with run-flat tyres.
The exclusive flair of the interior of the edition vehicles is enhanced by sports seats in MINI Yours Leather Lounge in Carbon Black with particularly striking stitching and piping. This color scheme harmonizes perfectly with the Rebel Green paint finish and the black and gold exterior design features. The Nappa sports leather steering wheel bears an edition emblem on the lower spoke, and the roofliner of the MINI Resolute Edition is in anthracite.
In similar fashion, the interior surfaces created especially for the Resolute Edition emphasize the cars’ premium style.
Parallel and evenly curved lines in a light shade of gold form a dignified pinstripe pattern on the black background of the surfaces. At the same time, they pick up on the structure of the bonnet stripes. The specific design features are staged with the help of the lighting package, whose LED units provide targeted interior illumination, as well as with the Ambient Light, light piping in the doors and cockpit area, as well as illuminated door handles and door entry areas.

The Resolute Edition’s exclusive design features make up a carefully crafted package for premium exterior and interior style. They also tie in particularly harmoniously with the clear and purist MINI design language. In the interior, the classic sporty flair of the colors and materials is combined with advanced digital technology.
The sports multifunction steering wheel in the MINI Resolute Edition has controls laid out in smooth Piano Black. Its keypad structure optimizes operation of the audio and telephone functions, voice control, cruise control, and speed limiter functions. A multifunctional instrument display behind the steering wheel is fitted as standard – this digital color display in black panel design has a 5-inch diameter and displays all driving-relevant information as well as check-control messages and status displays of the driver assistance systems.
The latest generation of the MINI operating system optimizes the quick and intuitive control of vehicle functions, audio programme, communication, navigation and apps. Live widgets on the 8.8 inch touch display of the central instrument are used to activate the desired menu item, which can be selected with a swiping motion similar to that on a smartphone. Wireless Apple CarPlay is also available for drivers to stay plugged in on the go. The Harman Kardon hi-fi speaker system is fitted as standard – its 12 high-performance speakers with a generous output of 360 watts was designed specifically for the vehicle interior, and provides sound as authentic as the recording artist intended.

The Driving Assistant increases safety on the road. Features such as the collision warning and pedestrian warning systems with city braking function make it easier to avoid dangerous situations, particularly in city traffic. Notable features in the Driving Assistant package include Park Distance Control with sensors at the rear, the rear view camera, as well as the cruise control function.
The lane departure warning helps the driver stay safely on the chosen course at speeds between 70 and 210 km/h. To prevent unintentional lane departure, the system registers markings at the edge of the lane and alerts the driver if there is a risk of deviation by vibrating the steering wheel. Other innovations in the Driving Assistant package include the camera-based speed and distance control – these help the driver keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front by providing a visual warning when the vehicle in front is too close.
