Universal Storefront Services Corporation (USSC), one of the country’s leading non-bank financial service store networks, was appointed the exclusive remittance center for the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) as part of the agency’s COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP). CAMP provides for a one-time financial assistance of P5,000 to workers of private firms affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). To date, a total of 10,238 families have been served amounting to P51,190,000, which constitutes 92% of the target disbursements in CAR.

USSC offers a quick turnaround time and can execute the sendouts within 24 hours upon receiving the funds from DOLE. To ensure safe transactions, USSC sends out a personalized SMS and notifies the recipient that the remittance is ready to be claimed. Status reports are generated daily to guard against remittance issues.

According to one of the beneficiaries, Arsenio P. Baylon, Jr. of Baguio City, “I would like to commend USSC for their excellent customer service. I was so happy to receive the USSC Super Padala text message that the funds from DOLE are available and immediately proceeded to the nearest USSC branch. They were very accommodating and quick to assist me resolve some issues with regards my personal details and in a short period of time I was able to claim the much-needed funds.”

As an added convenience, the beneficiaries may claim their remittances at any of USSC’s 1,500 outlets around the country. And with the Company’s recent partnership with Cebuana Lhuillier, they may also choose to claim in any of the 2,500 Cebuana Lhuillier branches nationwide.

“During these trying times, being a 100% Filipino-owned corporation, USSC remains committed to its promise of delivering quality service with the best value,” said Jose Xavier B. Gonzales, Chief Executive Officer of USSC.
