The Company locally has been in operation since 1963 and manufactures Eden Cheese, Cheez Whiz and other bread fill products. These many years, the Company, together with the Union have marked many milestones in labor-management cooperation.

This includes creating a platform for communication between the Company and the Union, and effective Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) discussions, which conclude within above industry-standard periods. This year, the Company and the Union have harmoniously closed another CBA discussion in a few short days, strengthening the progressive relationship between the two parties.

To empower people to snack right is Mondelez Philippines’ purpose. This means providing the right snack, for the right moment, and made the right way. The Company is a local leader in powdered beverage, cheese, and chocolates, and a strong player in the biscuits category. Its snack products also include Tang, Oreo, Cadbury Dairy Milk and Toblerone, which have been part of many snacking moments for the past 56 years. As part of this purpose, making snacks the right way means building a winning growth culture within the Company. This translates to leveraging on local commercial expertise, investing in talent and key capabilities, and while enabling the business to move with greater speed and agility. The Company’s recipe for success are its people and products.

“Our CBA has been instrumental in improving our employees’ working conditions and total rewards mechanisms, which help us in driving productivity in our plant,” shares Mondelez Philippines Plant Lead Atul Kulkarni. “Through a strengthened labor-management cooperation, which we fondly call as our “Ugnayan,” (relationship) we have been able to establish a platform for collaborative and stronger communication with our Union. This has greatly contributed to driving a higher level of people engagement and a better partnership.”

“We work together to bring to life our Ugnayan principles,” adds Kulkarni. “Much like any relationship, ours is founded on having regular and quality conversations, the duty of good faith, mutual trust, respect, and transparency. Together, we have been able to reach a win-win agreement that promotes both the business and our people’s interests.”

One of the Company’s core values is to Grow Every Day, and that’s a promise they will live up to moving forward. Ends Kulkarni, “We will continue to invest on our people’s growth and development.
