A staunch supporter of sports, the Philippines’ largest fully integrated telco PLDT has revamped its professional volleyball team as it prepares for the upcoming 2022 Premier Volleyball League season.

The PLDT Home High Speed Hitters welcome a new era with a new name, new coach, and new roster for PVL 2022.

Under its new banner, the PLDT Home High Speed Hitters has welcomed a new roster of talented players who are ready to give their best during the tournament. The team has also named George Pascua as its new head coach, bringing in his experience as a multi-titled coach and his expertise as part of the Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team.

“We are grateful for the service of our previous players and Coach Roger Gorayeb. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors. We are also looking forward to work with Coach George and our players,” said Jude Turcuato, First Vice President and Head of Sports at PLDT and Smart.

Fans will still get to witness the hardcourt action of PLDT veterans Rhea Dimaculangan, Chin Basas, Eli Soyud, and Iza Viray. Joining them are reigning PVL Best Libero Kath Arado, Jessey De Leon, Dell Palomata, Jovy Prado, Lhara Clavano, Wendy Semana, Fiola Ceballos, Mean Mendrez, Jules Samonte, Heather Guino-o, and Mika Reyes.

These players are multi-titled and experienced athletes in their professional and collegiate careers, including some who also represented the country in previous Southeast Asian Games and other international tournaments.

“As a company who believes in the values that we learn from sports, the winning culture is something that we expect in any MVP team. But we understand that it’s not always an easy feat, that is why we will continue to support our team and help them achieve their goals, one step at a time. We always want to improve and be better in every game, that is the mindset that we want for the team,” Turcuato added.
