This was announced by the FAC Chairman Allan D. Soria, who was appointed by the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines, the national university sports federation recognized by the International University Sports Federation, which conducts the World University Games once every two years, an Olympic event of universities with a membership of 185 countries.

The 2nd PUSL is the qualifying tournament not only to the Chengdu Universiade, but other international competitions such as the 20th ASEAN University Games, which will be held from July 26, 2022 to August 6, 2022, after the conclusion of Chengdu’s Summer Universiade, which will start earlier from June 26, 2022 to July 7, 2022.

Moreover, the PUSL, under the supervision of the FESSAP Aquatic Club, is highly supported by government-state universities, led by Bataan Peninsula State University in Region 3 and the Technological University of the Philippines, located in Manila.

The PUSL is to be staged in Region 3 on Dec. 15 to 17, with the support from the BPSU president, Dr. Gregorio J. Rodis, with his Sports Director, Dr. Romeo Nisay coordinating with FAC Chairman Soria.

Soria is also the TUP Sports Director, supported by TUP President, Dr. Jesus Rodrigo F. Torres.

Soria will be assisted by BPSU swimming head coach, Francis V. Gallardo, FAC Director in Region 3.

Furthermore, Soria has requested that BPSU host the PUSL and provide the swimming facility (Olympic-sized swimming pool) as the venue for the competition. These include BPSU dormitories with affordable costs for athletes, coaches, and officials.

Newly-elected FESSAP President Edwin C. Fabro, a businessman-philanthropist, has acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Torres (TUP President), Dr. Rodis (BPSU President) and Soria (TUP Sports Director and FESSAP Executive Assistant on State University Affairs), of promoting student-athletes to be active in sports consciousness programs and committed to participate in international competitions.
