Professional esports team Omega Esports is finally calling it a day three years since its creation.

“So long for now, and ‘till we meet again!,” said the team in its Facebook page.

Also known as the Smart Omega team because of its sponsor Smart Communications, Omega Esports is ending its journey following multiple championships, including a title romp in the 2019 Philippine Southeast Asian Games, where its players were part of the national team.

In its Facebook page, the team also revealed how the team stuck together through thick and thin.

“For the past 3 years that we’ve been together as a team and as a family, we had our fair share of highs and lows. From earning multiple championships and runner-up titles here and there, to exiting early at some tournaments. Then having the 2 of you represent our country at the SEA Games, eventually earning the 2nd spot consecutively and then most recently, flying off to Singapore for M2. There are still a lot that we want to mention but it’ll take us until tomorrow,” the team said.

Omega Esports revealed that the team started with players Heathy, Karltzy and their Coach Dale during the Season 2, but after the Season 3, they all played under the SGD banner before later on becoming the Omega team.

“Our most memorable moments would definitely be when we were representing the Philippines in the M2 and when we had 4 of our members as part of the SEA games gold medal team. Playing for the country is an experience like no other,” the team said.

“Overall, our team had been together for close to 3 years. All are proven veterans and stars, so you’ll be seeing them in different colors in the upcoming season,” Omega said.
