Around P500,000 worth of personal protective equipment was donated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to medical frontliners working in hospitals around Metro Manila.

NCAA management committee chairman Peter Cayco of Season 95 host Arellano University said this is part of their league’s advocacy by extending assistance in the fight to control the coronavirus pandemic.

“Each member school of the NCAA has done its part in the relief efforts with donations of food and equipment for the frontliners, but this is the first time that as a whole—as one NCAA family—we’re giving our donation,” said Cayco.

The league has momentarily shifted its priorities after the policy board of the NCAA terminated all activities of Season 95 last month.

The decision was reached after the government imposed an enhanced community quarantine in Luzon until May 15 in its bid to check the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are one in hoping and praying that this will be over soon,” added Cayco.

The PPEs will be distributed within the next two weeks.
