GolfCon 2025: A game-changer for PH golf tourism

The inaugural GolfCon 2025: Let’s Golf the Philippines concluded with resounding success, drawing nearly 2,000 attendees, including industry leaders, government officials, international dignitaries, exhibitors, and golf enthusiasts.

Held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, the event firmly established itself as a premier platform for promoting golf tourism, fostering industry collaboration, and advancing the sport in the Philippines.

The opening ceremony, hosted by veteran sportscaster Anthony Suntay, featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting led by GolfCon Chairman Jesse Guerrero.

He was joined by key officials from the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP), including DOT Chief of Staff and Undersecretary for Tourism Regulation, Coordination, and Resource Generation Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, DOT Undersecretary for Special Projects Ferdinand Jumapao, DOT Director for Golf Tourism and Special Projects Lyle Uy, NGAP Director Lt. General Connor Anthony Canlas Sr., Pacsports President Jaye Escuadro, and Empire Sports Managing Director Liza Tang-Yuquico.

Adding an international presence, H.E. Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino from the Embassy of Malaysia, H.E. Harsh Kumar Jain from the Embassy of India, and H.E. Lai Thai Binh from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam attended the ceremony, underscoring golf’s role in cross-cultural engagement and tourism development.

Other notable attendees from the DOT included Assistant Secretary Judilyn Quiachon, Director Azucena Pallugna, and regional directors Richard Daenos (RO-III), Marites Castro (RO-IV A), Judy Gabato (RO-VII), Karina Tiopes (RO-VIII), and Nelia Arina (RO-XII).

GAME-CHANGER

GolfCon 2025 featured a dynamic exhibit floor showcasing top golf brands, travel destinations, and the latest advancements in golf technology. Industry panels, masterclasses, and networking sessions provided valuable insights and opportunities for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
