BAGUIO—The seniors’ competition of the 74th Januarius Fil Am Invitational starts today (Friday) with focus on other divisions outside of the premier championship on spotlight.
The Fil and Am championship teams begins play on Friday, November 30, at the Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay courses here.
Luisita is seeking for a repeat of its winning performance in Fil Championship last year anchored on Abe Rosal, Chino Raymundo, Damas Wong, Benjie Sumulong and Ferdie Barbosa.
Manila Southwoods, which placed runner up and is hoping to reclaim the crown, will bank on Jose Roy, Raul Minoza, Theodore Pascual, Nestor Plana and Manfred Guangko.
Summit Point is the underdog in the division but definitely no pushover with club champs Ave Avena Montealto plus foreign teammates Roger Kidwell, Larry Webb and Scott Dennon.
Another team to watch out is Forest Hills. Fil Am veterans Rodel Mangulabnan and Ronnie Littaua are expected to lead the team with Peter Young, Edgar Lee and Raffy Garcia.
In the Am Championship, Thirdy Escano, Ryan Abdon, Monet Garcia, Raul Magpantay, Danny Samaniego and Joseph Tambunting are all set to go for Manila Southwoods’ second straight win.
