The Philippine pair of Marzel Burgos and Agustina Bantiloc overcame the mighty Koreans in the battle for the bronze in the Compound Open Mixed Team event at the recent Asian Para Archery Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.

Burgos and Bantiloc outscored the pair of Jin Young Jeong at Hwang Sung Ki, 143-139, to bounce back from a medal-less campaign in the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China last month.

Coach Jonathan Josol said Burgos, who is from Davao, and Baguio’s Bantiloc, have an excellent chance of making it to the Paris Paralympics in 2024.

“We can make a mark here in the Asian Para-Championships and CQT Paris 2024 Paralympic Qualifiers,” said Josol. “

Bantiloc and Burgos surpassed the qualifying standard with scores of 635 and 658, respectively, in the qualifying rounds.
