The opening of Philippine Racing Commission’s 2nd Philippine Horseracing and Breeding Expo, held at Il Centro, Sta. Lucia Mall in Cainta, was as grand as can be.

The well-attended affair started off with messages coming from partners of the Philracom, led by Senate Committee on Sports Chairman Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, among others.

Chairman Aurelio “Reli” de Leon, in his welcome address, took the opportunity to thank all those who were present and shared his vision of growth in the industry, most especially the thrust of horseracing in being part of the country’s sports tourism activities.

“More than that, next year will be a banner year for the Philracom as we celebrate our 50th anniversary and we expect the 3rd Expo to be bigger than ever,” De Leon said.

In attendance were officers of the Games and Amusements Board, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Crown Company Ltd., the Philippine Race Horse Trainers Association, the New Philippine Jockeys’ Association and the PTGWO (Tellers Association).

Also gracing the annual spectacle were sporting legends Long Jump Queen Elma Muros-Posadas and former Ginebra San Miguel big man EJ Feihl, who went around, visited the booths and gave in to requests for selfies with the public.

The event was also a fitting venue for the launch of Philracom’s new logo in time for the agency’s 50th anniversary, which is due next year.

After the formal parts of the program, the fun began with a dance competition between employees of Philracom and the apprentice jockeys much to the delight of the audience, who raved over both performances.

Philracom Chairman Reli de Leon and PCSO GM Mel Robles lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony opening the Philippine Racing Commission’s 2nd Philippine Horseracing and Breeding Expo.

Closing out the day’s activities was a zumba session during which a raffle was simultaneously held.

The 2nd Philippine Horseracing and Breeding Expo will run until November 16. So come on and join in the fun.
