Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup set in October

After picking out its 32 semi-finalist teams from the nationwide elimination rounds last July and August, the 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup is now gearing up for the grand finals happening on October 4 to 6, at the SM City North EDSA The Block Atrium in Quezon City.

Winning teams from the branch qualifiers each took home P5,000 in cash and a guaranteed spot at the finals for both CS:GO and LoL tournaments.

The three-day event will see exciting battles between top-caliber eSports teams compete in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) Tournament on October 4 (Friday) and the League of Legends (LoL) Tournament on October 5 (Saturday). There will also be a grand Cosplay Competition happening on October 6 (Sunday).

Out of more than 2,000 players who registered for the nationwide eliminations, the 16 teams competing for CS:GO Online Interbranch Semi-Finals happening on September 14 (for CS:GO) are as follows: 

CS:GO Metro Manila

TNC Cyber Café Lerma – SEDNA; Miraculum Esports Lounge – ArkAngel

CS:GO Luzon

TNC Cyber Café Molino – ECual Esports; TNC Cyber Café La Union – H%M Esports

TNC Cyber Café SJDM – nerB; and TNC Cyber Café Legazpi – Half-Buy

CS:GO Visayas

TNC Cyber Café Bacolod DT – Steelwolves Astral; TNC Cyber Café Bohol – Station 751; Techtite Esports Lounge Iloilo– Iyakins; and Acclaim Computer Center– iLL City Sharks

CS:GO Mindanao

Esports Venue Davao – EZPZ; Metronoia Cyber Café – Metronoia.gg; NCGC HQ Gen San – REAPERS.CS; and NCGC HQ Kidapawan – Cranium.ESG

Meanwhile, the 16 teams facing off for the LoL Online Interbranch Semi-Finals on September 21 are:

TNC Cyber Café Legazpi – nZero Toxic Club; TNC Cyber Café SJDM – Barko Esports; TNC Cyber Café La Union – AOTN; and TNC Cyber Café Molino – PlayLoud Esports

LoL Visayas

TNC Cyber Café Bohol – Ruyal Esports; TNC Cyber Café Bacolod DT – Steelwolves Gaia; Acclaim Computer Center – Sino Madula; and Techtite Esports Lounge Iloilo – Bren Esports

LoL Mindanao

Esports Venue Davao – Archeous; Metronoia Cyber Café – Emoji; NCGC HQ Gen San – GenPol Esports; and NCGC HQ Kidapawan – CST

Sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), established by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council(TAITRA), the 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup now boasts a PHP 430,000 prize pool — a huge jump from the initial amount of P395,000, which was first announced in June.

Aside from the cash prize, the winning team in the CS:GO tournament will have the honor of representing the Philippines in an upcoming international competition, which will take place in Taiwan. The team will be competing against their counterparts from Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, and India.

Adding to the festivities of the 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup, actress and cosplayer Myrtle Sarrosa will be making an appearance at the event on October 4, while musician, gamer, and seasoned cosplayer Ashley Gosiengfiao will be joining the fun on October 5.

With a roster of exceptional teams and a huge prize pool up for grabs, the 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup promises to boost the gaming industry in the Philippines by bringing the thrill of international eSports competitions to the local community, supported by quality gaming devices and products from Taiwan.

The 2019 Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup is partnered with renowned Taiwan brands led by Asus Republic of Gamers as the official gaming PC provider along with Aorus, Avermedia, In-Win, Kingmax, Transcend, XPG, Team Group, Zadak, G.Skill, and Zyxel to provide top-grade esports experience in the country.
