Now that the 2020 National Basketball Association finals is about to begin, officials of the league expressed their interest to share their best practices to the Philippine Basketball Association.

The success of their bubble is inspiring organizers of the NBA to let other leagues learn from their success in conducting a big tournament during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are very much aware and well connected to the PBA. We have shared our profiles with them already, and we are disseminating this widely to many leagues and the world,” said Scott Levy, the executive vice president and managing director of NBA Asia.

Levy talked about the NBA Finals and their discussions with PBA officials over their bubble setup in Orlando, Florida during a virtual meeting with scribes through NBA Philippines.

“We will share. We are staying connected and available on any questions they may have,” added Levy.

The PBA Philippine Cup is set to restart under a bubble concept at the Angeles University Foundation in Angeles City, Pampanga on October 11.

Levy mentioned their exchanges with officials of the PBA during a conversation centering on the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat

Organizers believe that excitement among Filipino fans are picking up with the Lakers and the Heat having reached the NBA Finals in convincing fashion.

Both teams are entering the championship round with 12-3 win-loss records in the playoffs.

The Heat, who entered the championship, with a 4-2 slate, are playing with a balanced attack, with a different leading scorer in each of their series.

“We are about to start the NBA finals, and we couldn’t be more excited. That’s because the NBA restart has been a resounding success,” said Levy.

For the finals, the NBA earlier unveiled its new court design.

New design elements include the addition of the 2020 NBA Finals Presented by YouTube TV logo at center court as well as the iconic Walt Disney World script written outside opposing lane lines on each side of the court.

The baselines are also adorned with artwork of the Larry O’Brien Trophy in red and blue, respectively.

The winner receives the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, awarded annually to the winning team of the NBA Finals.

The Lakers seek their 17th NBA championship.

If the Lakers get the crown, they would tie Boston for the most titles in league history.

The Lakers’ most recent NBA championship was during the 2009-10 season.
