The University of Perpetual Help Altas has a new go-to guy going into their Tuesday game with the San Beda Red Lions in the 99th National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament.

The Altas will be counting more on Art Roque’s hot hands after he proved his worth during their 74-59 swamping of the winless Letran Knights on Sunday at the Filoil Ecooil Center.

The Altas, who improved to 2-4, will meet the Red Lions at 2 p.m.

Coach Myk Saguiguit commended Roque for his performance during the game when he unloaded six three-pointers in the third and fourth quarters to put the Altas on top.

“Galing humanap ng puwesto, lagi siyang available doon sa spots na rina-run naming sets kaya siya ‘yung nabe-benefit. Siguro hindi suwerte, kasi shooter naman talaga siya,” said Saguiguit.

Roque’s ability to find his sweet spots to shoot on the floor will help the Altas in their quest to move further up the standings.

The 23-year-old Roque averages 11.83 points, 6.67 rebounds, and 2.33 assists for the Altas, and is their third-highest scorer.

The Red Lions, who have a 3-2 card, need a fourth win as they chase the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals and the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers (4-2), which are tied at third spot.

The Lyceum Pirates, who have a firm grip on the top spot at 6-1, will try to bounce back from their 83-87 loss to the Mapua University in their 4 p.m. match with the Heavy Bombers.
