The La Salle Green Archers try to clinch the third Final Four Semifinals slot when they battle the National University Bulldogs 4 p.m. today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in the 81st University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball tournament.
The Green Archers will also try to extend their win streak if they hurdle the Bulldogs in their featured encounter in the 81st University Athletic Association.
The Green Archers got closer to the semifinals following their 110-69 blasting of the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers.
Coach Louie Gonzalez said he is pushing for the Green Archers to be more consistent.
The La Salle victory pushed the Growling Tigers down to sixth place at 5-6 in a three-way fight for the last Final Four seat with the Far Eastern University Tamaraws and the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, who both share the same 6-6 card in fourth.
“Siguro yung consistency for the entire game. Pinu-push ko lang sa kanila na they have to be consistent and keep on improving,”
La Salle’s Aljun Melecio finished with 22 points during their last game.
Earlier in the day, the UST Growling Tigers will try bounce back when take on the Adamson University Soaring Falcons at 2 p.m.
The Falcons have an 8-3 slate at no. 2, and are already assured of a seat in the Final Four.
