JOHN Mark Cerezo fired 19 points for the La Consolacion Baby Blue Royals as they trounced the San Beda Manila-A Red Kittens, 73-46, over the weekend in the 16th Fr. Martin Cup Division 2 basketball tournament.

Cerezo’s teammates Harvee Galang and Justine Latonio added 8 and 7 points, respectively, to lead the Baby Blue Dragons to their fourth straight win when action ended at the St. Placid gymnasium inside San Beda-Manila campus in Mendiola.

This kept the Baby Blue Royals in contention for a quarterfinals seat in Group A, according to Commissioner Robert de la Rosa.

The Baby Blue Royals limited the Red Kittens to nine points in the first period and went on to coast to a 38-22 halftime lead.

In the senior division, the Letran Knights won by default over St. Joseph College-Bulacan and so did the La Salle Green Archers in their game with Pasig Catholic College.
