The DoJ Justice Boosters ramped up their endurance practices and are now all set to go up against the leading PNP Responders in the main game of the UNTV Cup Executive Face-Off at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Pasig City Sports Center.

“We now have twice a week practice sessions to compete with other teams,” said DOJ coach John Agbayani Jr.

PNP, meanwhile, will try to keep the top spot with a fifth straight win in as many starrs.

An elimitation-round sweep of its seven games will net the Responders this year’s off season title.

Coach SPO2 Alfred Cuarez of PNP said: “One game at a time, but as much as possible, we want to win until the end.”

Meanwhile, the Malacañang-PSC Kamao and GSIS Thunder Furies are now both in a must-win situations after absorbing successive defeats.

The Kamao and the Thunder Furies will clash in the second game at 3:30 p.m.

The Thunder Furies are hoping to end their losing streak.

“We tried scoring, but fatigue caught up with my players,” coach Banzali said.

For now, GSIS, Malacañang-PSC and off season defending champion AFP Cavaliers are at the bottom of the ladder.

In the first game at 2 p.m., the Senate Sentinels shoot for their fourth win in a row when they take on the Ombudsman Graft Busters.

Senate coach Mike Fermin vowed to ramp up their defense after ekeing out a close 79-77 win over the defending Armed Forces of the Philippines Cavaliers last May 27.

“We just have to prepare again. We need to fix some things. We need to review the tape to fix the lapses especially in the defense side,” said coach Fermin said.
