A monthlong training camp in South Korea will keep Carlos Yulo in shape for his stint in 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 23-year-old Yulo left on Monday for Seoul with coach Aldrin Castaneda and his physical therapist Hazel Calawod to be with members of the Korean national team.

Yulo’s new coach, 68-year-old Tomoharu Sano is not around yet, but is helping him out with online instructions.

“We are doing everything possible for him to win an Olympic medal. I just hope he gets it,” said Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president Cynthia Carrion.

Yulo has earlier informed Carrion that he does not need a coach at the moment, after he parted ways last year with Munehiro Kugimiya.

With Kugimiya gone, Yulo is sticking it out with Castaneda, who has been coaching him before he went to Japan many years ago.

“His coach (Aldrin) is getting much better,” added Carrion.

Training camps in Spain, the United Kingdom and Australia have also been mapped out for Yulo before he goes to Paris.

In the first camp, Yulo wil get ready to go to Baku, Azerbaijan, to see action in one of the legs of the 2024 Apparatus World Cup Series on March 3 to March 10.
