Lim, Santiago rule Bike King TRI 2 meet

Kristiane Lim (Team Organique) and Ines Santiago (Team Herbalife) emerged as the fastest male and female finishers of the Bike King TRI 2 long-distance triathlon held at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone last Sunday.

 Lim’s swift and stunning finish of 3 hours, 28 minutes and 11 seconds for the 2-km swim plus a challenging 60km bike course on NLex-SCTex and a 15-km run through the hilly Tarlac and Zambales roads, garnered top honors for him in the overall male and male 30-34 age group categories. 

Sante Baraley’s Mervin Santiago (male 25-29 champion) was hot on Lim’s heels by 10 seconds to claim the 2nd fastest time, while Herbalife’s Ronald Molit (male 35-39 champion) came in 10 minutes after for the 3rd fastest finish.

Santiago came close to breaking the 4-hour mark with 4:05:32 and nabbed the overall female and top female 35-39 titles. Fitness First’s Petro Kuiper (female 50-above champion) swept in 11 minutes after for 2nd place overall, while her teammate Kaye Lopez (female 35-39 2nd place) followed two minutes after.

Other age-group champions in the event supported by Official Timekeeper TAG Heuer, Biogenic Alcohol, NLEX-SCTEX, Standard Insurance, Vittoria, Smart, Gatorade, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Saucony, Gardenia, Prohealth Sports and Spinal, ACEA Subic Bay, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), Court Meridian Hotel & Suites, and Subic Holiday Villas were Matthew Westrup and Madeleine Argosino (18-24), Andrea Villanueva (female 25-29), Jayline Balatibat (female 30-34), Edison Morales and Lezette Albarote (40-44), David Zimmerman and Vanj Endaya (45-49), John Villanueva (male 50-54), Dean Recupero (male 55-59) and Alfredo Santos (male 60-above).

 In the team competition, Herbalife claimed majority of the age-group podium trophies and came in first place overall with the combined fastest finish time of 39:56:18 from its members. 

Team Sante Barley settled for 2nd place coming in with an additional four hours, while 3rd place went to Century Tri Hard.

 In the relay competition, the fastest time was registered in the all-male category with Revv Multisport Cojones in 3:45:19. 

Team 9:30PM came in 1st place in the all-female relay; other top honors went to the Jumpstart Tri team in the mixed relay, and OxyPro Team1560 D in the family relay. To view and download the complete race results visit http://bikekingphilippines.com/events_bk-tri2_results.html
