Gilas PH whips Chinese Taipei B, 93-82

KEVIN Ferrer’s hot hands after the halftime break fueled a scoring attack that powered Gilas Pilipinas to a 93-82 demolition of Chinese Taipei B, 93-82, Monday in the 39th William Jones Cup basketball tournament at the Taipei Peace International Basketball Hall, Taipei.

Ferrer scored off Kiefer Ravena’s assist at the start of the third, touching off  9-0 run to open the third period and sending the Philippines on their way to their second win in three games.

His basket forced a 44-all tie, and from there, Gilas went on nurse a 53-44 edge.

Gilas has a 2-1 win-loss record to share second place  with Lithuania and Iraq. The team is behind unbeaten Canada (3-0) in the league standings.

Jio Jalalon tallied 13 points and five assists, while Ravena contributed 10 points, seven assists, and two steals.
