THE Pilipinas Sambo Team delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 USA Open International Sambo Cup, capturing three gold medals and one silver in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Chino Sy emerged victorious in the highly competitive +88kg Sport Sambo category, while Sydney Sy dominated the +72kg Sport Sambo division, both securing gold medals.
Aislinn Agnes Yap further bolstered the Philippines’ medal count with a gold in the +72kg Combat Sambo event.
Jomary Torres was also determined to excel, earning a silver medal in the 54kg Combat Sambo category.
The prestigious competition, hosted by USA Sambo Inc. and the International Sambo Federation, attracted the best Sambo practitioners from around the world, including Asia.
The team’s success was made possible by the unwavering support of the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee, whose commitment to the development of Sambo has been instrumental in the Philippines’ growing presence on the global stage.
