Orduña, Roda set personal best times at Rexona 10 Miler Series in Manila

Jason Darrel Orduña and Jessa Mae Roda both achieved their personal best times as they claimed victory in the featured 16-kilometer distance during the return of the unique six-leg Rexona Metro Manila 10 Miler Series 2025, held over the weekend.

It was a close race before Orduña, a University of the East graduate from Bulacan, secured the men’s title with his fastest time yet of 52:23 minutes on the inaugural route through the City of Manila. The race series had not been held since 2014.

Richie Estampador came in second, just 10 seconds behind at 52:33, while Ricky Organiza followed one second later at 52:34.

“I’m doing okay, and I felt in good condition today. It was a tight race and we only separated during the final kilometer,” said Orduña, who is currently preparing for the PATAFA National Open in hopes of making the national team. He was also the last champion of the 21km division in the National Milo Marathon.

The race, which started and finished at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila, has Vaseline

Pond’s, Surf, Knorr, Dove & Dove Hair, Close Up, Selecta and Lady’s Choice as Gold Sponsors.

Summit was the official hydration partner, ION+ as the official electrolyte partner, Olympic Village as the redemption partner and National Parks Development Committee as the venue partner.

Silver sponsors were Fitbar, Gardenia and Clyde, while bronze sponsors were Park Access (Nike),

Galinco, Katinko, and Chef on A Diet.

In the women’s division, Roda seized the opportunity, recording a personal best time of 1:04:17 to defeat Edna Magtubo, who placed second with 1:04:33. Multiple-time champion Maricar Camacho, despite twisting her ankle, still managed to finish third with a time of 1:09:04.

“My run went really well today and I got my personal best,” said the 22-year-old Physical Education major from National University, who is also a UAAP gold medalist in the steeplechase and 1500m events.

In the 10km race, Eduard Flores won with a time of 33:05, followed by Noli Torre at 33:12, and John Brussel Moncal at 33:22.

Teresiah Kabul topped the women’s 10km in 39:30, with Meljoy Gonzales in second at 43:06, and Jocelyn Elijeran in third at 43:32.

In the 5km race, Mark Angelo Biagtan took first place with 17:25, followed by Calvin Vidal at 17:56, and Jeremy Enreras at 18:27.

Jo Punay won the women’s 5km with 23:01, followed by Jysel Gabriel at 23:53, and Geneva Valmeo at 25:00.
