PARIS Olympics’ veterans Aleah Finnegan and Emma Malabuyo were feted as the regular season of the US NCAA gymnastics’ competitions came to an ended.
With the regional and national finals around the corner, Finnegan was honored as the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced the its regular season All-Americans awardees.
The WCGA celebrated the performances of its top student-athletes in NCAA’s Division I, II, and III gymnastics’ events.
Finnegan was among five Louisiana State University gymnasts feted, as she was given the First Team All-America honors in the NCAA’s Southeastern Conference.
The 22-year-old Finnegan took in four regular season All-America honors this year in the vault, beam, floor and the all-around, upping her career totals to 12.
Set to see action for the Philippines with Malabuyo in the coming Southeast Asian Games, Finnegan tied with Susan Jackson for the ninth-most honors in LSU history.
A senior from Missouri, Finnegan was among the top all-arounders in the country with her national qualifying score of 39.645.
Joining Finnegan from LSU are Haleigh Bryant, the gymnast with the most All-America honors in LSU history, along with Kailin Chio, who took home All-America honors in every event and the all-around in her first regular season with the Tigers.
Two other teammates, Konnor McClain and Amari Drayton also received multiple honors.
In the Big Ten Conference, Malabuyo was one of the six University of California-Los Angeles gymnasts, who earned regular season All-America honors for 2025.
Malabuyo earned her third career All-America honors in the balance beam, after finishing the regular season ranked No. 6 in the nation.
With Malabuyo was junior teammate Jordan Chiles and graduate Chae Campbell, who also had multiple awards, along with first timers Brooklyn Moors, Frida Esparza and Ciena Alipio.
The 22-year-old Malabuyo, a communications’ student planning to dabble into sports broadcasting, averaged a team-best 9.935 in the beam this season and normed 9.867 over her four-year career.
Malabuyo scored a season-high 9.975 at Maryland on Jan. 18 and has a career-best 10.00.
Chiles, a three-time Olympic medallist, leads the Bruins with four honors, receiving first-team acclaim in the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise and second-team honors in the all-around. This makes Chiles a 13-time All-American.
