The Kite Brothers showed the new kids on the block who’s boss, as Aurora Gaming took solo first place following a rousing victory over AP Bren.
The young bloods from AP Bren delivered a surprise performance as they went toe-to-toe against the powerhouse roster of Aurora Gaming in Game 1.
It was a back-and-forth game, with RORA finally breaking the tie to clinch a bit of momentum in the mid-game. Thanks to Shizou coming up clutch in the closing teamfight that ensued by the Lord on the 19-minute mark, APBR was able to secure an upset over Aurora.
RORA felt very motivated in Game 2 as they decimated Bren through the efforts of Renejay in 18 of the 19 total kills of Aurora Gaming. With the Kite brothers coming through, they were able to dominate again and complete their series comeback.
Despite the series loss, AP BREN showed glimpses of their potential ceiling as their standout player Jamespangks showed a solid performance with a 14-4-18 KDA scoreline for the whole series.
Before the season started, APBR shared that its initial goal for this season is to achieve playoffs. Looking back on their performances so far, Der believes that their confidence level and morale remain high.
“Hindi naman po namin iniisip na 0-2 kami. Hanggat hindi pa nag-aannounce ang MPL na laglag kami, hindi kami susuko na makuha yung goal namin.”
