New management takes over Camp John Hay golf estate

The Camp John Hay golf estate has reopened under an interim management group formed by Golfplus Managment Inc., the operations team behind the driving ranges in premium estates Nuvali and Alviera.

DuckWorld PH, a sports management and marketing agency, will be assisting the Bases Conversion and Development Authority in managing the facilities for the interim period.

Formerly under the CJH Development Corporation subsidiary CJH Golf Club Inc., the facilities have been recovered by the BCDA in line with the 22 October 2024 Supreme Court resolution to deny with finality all motions for reconsideration filed by CJH DevCo and their third-party respondents. The Notice to Vacate was served to CJH DevCo on 6 January 2025.

“We know the CJH golf course is a crowd favorite in the golf community. New and former players will continue to enjoy premium services at the estate facilities during the interim period,” says BCDA Vice President Mark P. Torres.

“We will be introducing improvements and evaluating systems and protocols to provide appropriate recommendations when the estate is ready to be turned over to a long-term private partner,” says GMI President and Interim Management Head Eduardo P. Arguelles. “We want to assure clients and stakeholders that we will be updating everyone regularly to guide them during the transition.”

“The new management will make sure services continue and workers and caddies are cared for,” adds John Hay Management Corporation President and CEO Marlo Quadra. “We look forward to upholding the prestige of the golf estate and quality of service for players and guests.”

The estate facilities will be temporarily closed from 7 to 8 January 2025 (Tuesday and Wednesday) to allow the Office of the Baguio Sheriff to conduct an inventory of the property and to facilitate operational transitions. Interim guidelines are targeted for release on 8 January 2025.
