Action in gymnastics will kick off the 2024 Batang Pinoy national championships this Saturday in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Competitions in trampoline will commence at the Palawan Provincial Capitol Convention Center on the same day of the opening ceremonies.
As the artistic gymnastics events begin in the succeeding days, all eyes will be on Karl Eldrew Yulo, the younger brother of Paris Olympics’ double gold medallist Carlos Yulo.
The 16-year-old Yulo is once again expected to dominate the rest of the field with his sister Elaiza.
Last year, Karl Eldrew swept all seven individual gold medals in men’s artistic gymnastics in the 14-15 year old division.
Now a year older, Karl Eldrew will most likely do the same in the 16-17 boys’ category,

Eldrew’s feat came a month after coming out of a 10-day training camp with Japanese coach Munehiro Kugimiya with his sister Elaiza.
The younger Elaiza, who recently swept medals in the Palarong Pambansa, is expected to make her presence felt in the 14-15 year old level.
Some 12,000 delegates from 177 LGUs are set to compete in the weeklong event for young athletes aged 12 to 17 years.
The meet will feature 30 different sports, held in celebration of the silver anniversary of the multi-sports event launched in 1999.
