FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist’s First Nominee Brian Poe reaffirmed his support to sports development programs aimed at strengthening the sports industry and encouraging youth participation.
Poe made the commitment during the ZCL 2 Supremacy, where FPJ Panday Bayanihan served as one of the sponsors of the event.
“Sports can serve as an outlet for young people, where they learn valuable life lessons and other essential skills–reducing their vulnerability to harmful social influences. It helps promote the values of unity, resilience, and teamwork, which the youth can apply in other aspects of their daily life,” Poe said.
Zeus Combat League hosted the competition at SM North Skydome last October 26. It aimed to raise the profile of mixed martial arts (MMA) in the Philippines, featuring fighters demonstrating skill, resilience, and commitment. With a new CEO at its helm, Rocco Nacino, ZCL seeks to focus on world-class promotion and professional development of FIlipino MMA fighters that can represent the Philippines on the world stage.
Poe, a former athlete, stressed that the sports sector, including private initiatives, needs additional attention and support to boost and increase the chances for youth to participate in various sports programs.
“This is more than just competition. It’s about the power of community–of coming together to provide opportunities to our young athletes and keeping them focused and out of trouble through discipline and training,” he added.
FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist has been helping grow the sports industry and giving second chances to young people through scholarships and other programs such as Ang Liga and FPJ Cup.
