BACOOR CITY — The Bacoor City Lady Strikers, the inaugural season champion of the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA), will hold tryouts in preparation for the opening of the league’s 1st season in August, 2024.
Coach Sandy Rieta said the tryouts, set on July 6 (Saturday) at 4 p.m. and July 7 (Sunday) at 2 p.m. at the Strike Gymnasium in New Bacoor City Government Center in Molino Boulevard,
are open to collegiate, ex-pros and commercial players.
The defending champion Lady Strikers aim to win back-to-back titles in the eight-team field, that includes two new teams in Quezon Tangerines and Valenzuela Classy.
The Lady Strikers won the inaugural season by defeating Negros Oriental, 28-26, 25-14, 25-23, in Game 3 of their best-of-three finals to reign supreme in the MPVA last December 21, 2023 at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo City.
Mary Rhose Dapol, Shaila Omipon, Denise Lozano, Winnie Bedaña, Bebang Ocado and Razel Aldea of the Perpetual Help Lady Altas starred in the Lady Strikers’ title conquest.
