Serdeña leads Fil-Am Junior golf

Baguio—David Charles Serdeña came through with birdies in two of the last three holes to finish with an opening one-over-par 69 or equivalent to 53 Molave points to lead the way in the Fil-A division of the Fil-Am Invitational Junior Championship at the Camp John Hay Golf Club.

After going three over in the initial six holes including a double bogey on the 5th, Serdeña found his stride and made consecutive birdies on Nos. 7 and 8, added two on 10 and 12, then delivered on another pair on 16 and 17 that gave him a three-point lead on Baguio-based Korean An Seongmin.

Zhan Pocholo Medina occupies solo third with 50 followed by Francis Slavin 47, Mark Velasco 45, Seth Koa 44 and Juan Antonio Escaño 42 in the second edition of the tournament for junior golfers that is co organized by Baguio Country Club (BCC) and CJHGC.

In Fil-B, Jeon Gunwoo turned in a 50, six up on rising jungolfer Felix Saludar. Aenzo Sulaik remains in contention after a 42.

Miguel Orbita, a CJHGC dependent, made 44 and raced to a big lead in Fil-C as Ezekiel Opinion and Park Hoonmin managed just 31 and 26, respectively.

Over at BCC, it’s a close fight for the Am-B title . Zyrah de Leon (32) holds a slim advantage versus Cho Seungbin (31) and Monica Angheng (28).

Other leaders are Jose Luis Espinosa in Fil-D, Cole Parker Galvez in Fil-E, Annika Molintas in Am-A, Megan Angheng in Am-C, Maurysse Abalos in Am-D and Athalea Espedido in Am-E.
