ArenaPlus, your 24/7 sports gaming app, continues to champion the local basketball scene as the official sports entertainment gateway of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) by providing everyone with an elevated PBA All Star Weekend Bacolod back-to-back with the renewal of an endorsement contract with PBA star Scottie Thompson.

Taking on the major sponsor role, ArenaPlus made sure to bring a fun and entertaining PBA All Star Weekend Bacolod to the Bacolodnons last March 21 to 24, 2024. ArenaPlus, alongside PBA, took the chance to make a memorable All Star Weekend by giving away brand merchandise at Barangay Villamonte, Ayala Malls Bacolod Fanzone, and SM Bacolod.

ArenaPlus also hosted an obstacle course challenge for players, where it awarded challenge winner JM Calma from the Northport Batang Pier team a cash prize of Php 30,000. Highlighting the event was the head-to-head match between two All Star teams featuring Team Mark with coach Jorge Gallent, June Mar Fajardo, and CJ Perez and Team Japeth with coach Tim Cone, and Paul Lee. The match ended in a tie with both teams scoring 140 points due to a tiebreaker shot by Roberto Bolick.

On top of a basketball match between Team Mark and Team Japeth, basketball fans were treated to a dance-off between the two teams. Spectators and players were also entertained during halftime with games and prizes courtesy of ArenaPlus and a dance performance by ArenaPlus Dancers.

While ArenaPlus attended the All Star Weekend event in Bacolod, the brand also organized a watch party for basketball fans and beloved ArenaPlus players at Social House, Circuit Makati. The watch party streamed All Star Weekend live as it was broadcasted on RPTV and PBA Rush.

The watch party was joined by influencers such as courtside reporter Aiyanna Perlas, Blackwater players Frederick Tungcab and Michael DiGregorio, ex-UAAP player Joshua Torralba, sports analysts Sports Papi and Nico Rocha, TV actor and host Andrei Felix, and more.

Meanwhile, ArenaPlus renewed its endorsement contract with PBA star Scottie Thompson last March 27, 2024, thanks in part to a good relationship over the year. ArenaPlus joined the basketball player throughout his recent professional career in both local and international settings, from PBA games and the FIBA World Cup to the Asian and SouthEast Asian Games.

Given the importance of basketball as a pastime to Filipinos, ArenaPlus continues to partner with PBA to give people more opportunities and easier access to basketball-related activities. ArenaPlus saw the PBA All Star Weekend as a chance to bring value-added entertainment to a wide range of people, especially since the watch party allowed basketball fans to watch the event as it took place in Bacolod.

Additionally, the contract renewal is proof of the growing trust between ArenaPlus and Thompson as partners in the Philippine sports industry. By adhering to the brand’s mission of developing entertainment and sports for all Filipinos, Thompson has played an instrumental role in making sports events in the country truly entertaining and relevant.
