DENICE “The Menace” Zamboanga finally gets her long awaited crack at the ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Championship at ONE 167 at Impact Arena in Bangkok on June 8.

ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong made the announcement official at ONE Fight Night 20: Todd vs. Phetjeeja as he rescheduled this colossal clash between Zamboanga and reigning champion Stamp Fairtex.

Originally set at ONE 166: Qatar, this will be an interesting duel between former peers who trained together at the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand.

Since then, their paths have diverged.

Stamp has since gone on and built a lore of her own, claiming victories in her last four matches, the last of which against Ham “Hamzzang” Seo Hee in the main event of ONE Fight Night 14 back in September to claim the vacant ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Championship.

She added that to her belt collection with her being the ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Grand Prix Champion, as well as a former ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion.

Zamboanga, for her part, had to go back from zero before stringing a two-fight win streak.

Her last match was in April last year where she earned a unanimous decision victory over Julie Mezabarba at ONE Fight Night 9: Nong-O vs. Haggerty.

Also announced for the card is the title defense of ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai against no. 3-ranked contender “Smokin” Jo Nattawut.
