Filipino shooter Hagen Topacio reached the finals of the men’s trap event of the 2024 Asian Shotgun Championships, an Asian Olympic qualifier held in Kuwait, on Monday evening.

But Topacio, who was second in the qualifiers, missed a shot at a slot in the Paris Olympics with his sixth-place finish in the championship round.

The 34-year-old Topacio, who has a Qualification Ranking for Olympic ranking at 149, went into the finals with a score of 120, during the preliminaries of the event.

Topacio was behind Iranian Mohammad Beiranvand entering into the final round, with the latter tallying 121 points.

Beiranvand then earned one of two seats in the Olympiad with China’s Guo Yuhao, with a tied score of 40 during the finals’ shootoff.
