ALEX Eala, who is seeking her highest world ranking, got her efforts going on the right footing on Wednesday with a 6-2, 6-4, triumph over Rana Akua Stoiber of Great Britain in the ITF W25 Aldershot GB Pro Series.
Eala moved up to world no. 215 from no. 250 in the ATP live rankings after winning last Sunday’s ITF W25 Roehampton crown.
Her highest was at world no. 214 last November.
She also got her doubles’ campaign on a bright note with Urszula Radwanska of Poland as they upset top-seeded hometown bets Emily Appleton and Lauryn John-Baptiste, 6-3, 7-5, to reach the semifinal round.
Eala and Radwanska are set to clash with third seeds Erina Hayashi and Saki Imamura of Japan.
