The Premier Volleyball League returns to Iloilo City on Tuesday after four years with a pair of matches featuring a number of homegrown talents at the University of San Agustin Gym.

Petro Gazz, led by Aiza Maizo from Passi City and Negrense Jonah Sabete tangle with Chery Tiggo in the 4 p.m. opener with the latter to be bannered by Ilonngas Shaya Adorador and Buding Duremdes.

Creamline, meanwhile, faces Akari in the 6:30 p.m. main dish with the Cool Smashers seeking to cap their elims romp and head to the Final Four on a winning mode, and the Chargers, spearheaded by Ilongga Dani Ravena and Negrense Joy Soyud, going all-out to mark their exit on a big note.

The country’s premier women’s volley league, organized by Sports Vision, played an official game in Iloilo on Oct. 5, 2019 that featured Army versus Choco Mucho, also at the San Agustin gym.

Today’s matches, however, could prove anti-climactic with Petro Gazz, with a 5-2 card, already assured of a stint in the semis with a superior tiebreak ratio in case of a triple tie at 5-3.

F2 Logistics has also clinched a semis seat with a four-set win over Army last week for a 6-2 record.

PLDT also totes a 5-2 mark and will close out its elims campaign against ousted Choco Mucho on Thursday back at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

With a 4-3 slate, Chery Tiggo’s slim hopes rely on a sweep of Petro Gazz coupled by a PLDT loss to Choco Mucho in three although it will still depend on the result of the contending teams’ point ratios at the close of the elims.
