Former Lyceum coach Topex Robinson is taking his act to the De La Salle University’s men’s basketball team.

Green Archers’ team manager and Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association chief Terry Capistrano on Thursday confirmed the status of the 48-year-old Robinson.

Robinson reported for practice and formally met members of the Green Archers during afternoon practice session at the Razon Sports Complex, inside the La Salle Manila campus.

Robinson is back as a collegiate coach after spending the last two years as mentor of the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters in the Philippine Basketball Association.

Robinson, who replaces Derrick Pumaren, became a coach after he retired from playing in 2011.

He first got a taste of coaching when he handled his former school squad, the San Sebastian College-Recoletos Stags.

Under him, the Stags earned a runner-up finish in Season 87 and were third place in Season 89.

In NCAA Season 90, Robinson went to the Lyceum of the Philippines University as head coach.

Last year, he was head of basketball operations for the entire system of the school.

The Pirates finished second twice in Season 93 and 94 with Robinson around.
