Nayre leads Huanchin to CFBCI table tennis title

Multi-titled Jann Nayre led Team Huanching to the championship in the Open Division of the Chinese-Filipino Business Club, Inc. Table Tennis Invitational Cup this weekend at Lucky Chinatown and Megaorld Lifestyle Mall in Binondo, Manila.

Along with Stephen Jaca and Eljay Tormis, the 25-year-old Nayre used his vast experience as a veteran internationalist and member of the national team to defeat the team of Justin Chen, Alvin Sevilla, John Michael Castro and Ruiz Arc Marcelino of UST-Type One Glass in the tournament sponsored by the Table Tennis Association for National Development, led by Peter Lam and Charlie Lim and supported by sports Godfather Stephen Techico.

The Triple Charles-Phil Army of Charlie Lim, George Quijano, Homber Tiongson and former PH player Julius Esposo finished second runner-up, as did the Philippine Navy of JD Sugatan, Sean Sabay, Francis Bendebel and Paul Que.

In Class B, winners were Waldner Mercado, JD Nominador and Walter Rebugio of Baycliff Phil. against the Heasman squad of Rey Reg, Yves Reg, Michael Aguna and Gab Presbitero, while ADMU-1 composed of Arman Castillo, France De Asis, Jamie De Asis and Nestor Estrella finished tied for second runner-up with  CMSTC comprised of Michael Herrera , RJ Chuaquico, John Henry Pacis and Mark Jason King.

The Ace squad, which includes Peter Lam, Philip Uy, Michael Dalumpines and Henry Ding, dominated the Veterans/Executive division.

Dobinson finished runner-up with  Jayson Jaquilmo, Richmond Ong, Marcos De Jesus and Richard Koa, while Baycliff  of  Benjie Bombay, Danny Panaguiton, Rey Reg and Jeje Marcelino tied for second runner-up, with  Tiple Charles-Phil. Army comprised of Charlie Lim, George Quijano, Julius Esposo and Gregorio Pascua.
