THE Far Eastern University Tamaraws aren’t taking things for granted when they face the University of the East Warriors in the main game set at 4 p.m. today in the 78th University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.

In fact, FEU coach Nash Racela sees more room for improvement for the Tamaraws, who are one win away from advancing to the Final Four.

“We are still looking for improvements. That’s something that we talked about in the last few days, how can we improve day to day,” said Racela.

The Warriors, who share the same 3-6 card with the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, will also try to improve their record and would be looking for a huge upset against the Tamaraws.

The Tamaraws easily won their last assignment, as they mainly relied on the offensive prowess of Mac Belo in leading them to 68-57 victory over the University of the Philippines Maroons.

The win gave the Tamaraws an 8-1record, one game ahead of erstwhile co-leader University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers, who dropped a 74-80 decision to the Ateneo Blue Eagles to fall to second place at 8-2.

The Eagles improved to 6-4 at third, followed by La Salle at fourth with a 5-4 card.

Meanwhile, the La Salle Green Archers take on the Adamson Falcons in the 2 p.m. schedule.

The Warriors share the same 3-6 card with the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.
