Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez is officially a finalist on Season 20 of America’s Got Talent after earning enough public votes to advance.
AGT announced the lineup Thursday (PH time), with Sanchez joining Chris Turner, LightWire, Sirca Marea, Jourdan Blue, and the Leo High School Choir in the finale. The performances are set for Sept. 23 in the U.S., with the winner to be revealed the following night.
Sanchez impressed the judges with her semi-final performance of JVKE’s “Golden Hour.”
Sofía Vergara, who earlier gave Sanchez her golden buzzer, told her: “You get better and better. It’s perfection. There’s nothing I would change about you.”
Simon Cowell praised the number as a “moment performance,” adding: “You’ve never given up over all these years, and you could have done, but you haven’t. Timing is everything. Everyone I talk to is talking about you.”
Now in her ninth month of pregnancy, Sanchez has been candid online about balancing motherhood and competition.
“I never imagined I’d be spending these final weeks away from home, in the middle of such an exciting competition,” she wrote on Instagram.
