Actor Dingdong Dantes has again ruled out entering politics, saying his focus remains on acting and his work in the entertainment industry.
In an interview in Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Dingdong was asked if he had plans to seek public office.
“Malinaw po sa akin na ang focus ko talaga ay dito sa industriyang ito, dito sa pagiging aktor,” he said.
Asked directly if he had political plans, the actor answered, “Wala po.”
In a January vlog by Janno Gibbs and Bing Loyzaga, Dingdong also said he had no interest in public office, stressing that service can be done in different ways.
Aside from acting, Dingdong serves as chairman of Aktor PH, or the League of Filipino Actors, a group formed during the pandemic to address concerns in the industry.
“It was a collective effort of a group of actors,” he said, recalling how the organization began during a period of uncertainty for performers.
Dingdong said the group continues to work with other organizations to support the entertainment community.
“Ang sarap lang ng pakiramdam na kabilang ka sa isang community ng mga taong nagmamalasakit,” he shared.
