GMA-7 rolls out Holy Week programming schedule

GMA Network presents a special programming schedule in observation of the Holy Week this Maundy Thursday (April 1), Good Friday (April 2), and Black Saturday (April 3). 

Docudrama Jesus: His Life opens Maundy Thursday at 6:00 a.m. with the stories of Mary, Joseph, and John the Baptist.

Docudrama ‘Jesus: His Life’ explores the story of Jesus Christ through a unique lens: the people in his life who were closest to him.

This will be followed by back-to-back animated features Detective Conan at 7:30 a.m. and The Croods at 8:30 a.m.. 

CBN Asia is set to offer its Holy Week specials at 10:00 a.m.

Afterwards, catch the heartwarming family movie The Stray at 11:00 a.m.

Lunch and laughter will be served with the back-to-back replay of two episodes of Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko titled ‘Boggs, The Easter Bunny Mischief’ and ‘Annie, The Runaway Bride Princess’ starting at 12:00  noon. 

The Hollywood classic featuring the retelling of the Biblical story of Moses in The Ten Commandments airs at 1:30 p.m..

Witness the life story of actor Mikael Daez on GMA News and Public Affairs’ Tunay Na Buhay at 5:00 p.m.. Come 5:30 p.m., I-Witness rolls out the documentaries ‘Gulong ng Pag-asa’ and ‘Isandaan.’ 

Welcome Good Friday (April 2) with the internationally-acclaimed religious program ‘Power to Unite,’ hosted by Ms. Elvira Yap-Go at 6:00 am. Then, ‘Jesus: His Life’ airs at 7:00 am featuring the story of Caiaphas and the story of Judas.

Watch ‘The Story of Jesus for Children’, a family drama following His life as seen through the eyes of children at 7:30 am.

Kids can look forward to adventure and comedy on ‘Ice Age: Collision Course’ at 8:30 am. 

Afterwards, don’t miss CBN Asia’s Holy Week specials at 10:00 am.

The whole family can tune in next to the inspirational movie ‘Life with Dog’ at 11:00 am. 

Recall Jesus' seven last words from the Dominican Province via ‘Siete Palabras’ which starts at 12:00nn. Then, spend the rest of the afternoon with the action-drama film ‘Gladiator’ at 3:00 pm. 

Meanwhile, ‘Tunay na Buhay’ presents the life story of ‘Mars Pa More’ host Iya Villania at 5:00 pm. This will be followed by the I-Witness documentary of Howie Severino ‘Ibang Pagtingin’ at 5:30 pm.

Then, GMA Network’s flagship newscast ‘24 Oras’ airs at 6:30 pm. Viewers can rewatch the pilot week of GMA’s newest primetime series ‘First Yaya’ at 7:15 pm. 

Catch Bianca Umali as she takes on the role of an inspiring teen-amputee with the replay of #MPK ‘Sayaw ng Buhay: The Lairca Nicdao Story’ at 10:30 pm.

On April 3, Black Saturday begins with ‘Jesus: His Life’ stories featuring Pontius Pilate, Peter, and Magdalene at 6:00 am.

Kids are in for a treat with a lineup of exciting films including ‘Bartok the Magnificent’ at 7:30 am;  ‘Trolls’ at 8:30 am; ‘Barbie in a Mermaid Tale’ at 10:00 am; and ‘Red Dog’ at 11:00 am. 

Meanwhile, fall in love with back-to-back romance movies ‘Cara x Jagger’ starring Ruru Madrid and Jasmine Curtis-Smith at 12:00pm and ‘Because I Love You’ with David Licauco and Shaira Diaz at 1:30 pm. Then, the epic historical drama movie ‘Ben-hur’ airs at 3:00 pm. 

At 5:30 pm, the I-Witness documentary ‘Nanay’ follows.

Viewers can catch ‘24 Oras Weekend’ and ‘First Yaya’ marathon at 6:30 pm and 7:15 pm, respectively. 

Finally, don't miss the documentary, ‘Fiesta: Ang Makulay na Pananampalatayang Pilipino’ from Jesuit Communications at 10:30 p.m.
