Broadcast journalist Erwin Tulfo has joined Ulat Bayan, PTV 4’s prime newscast that features daily exclusive reports and investigative series and comprehensive coverages of national and local news.
He joins the team of Aljo Bendijo, Alex Santos, and Dianne Querer in the program, which airs 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.. All of them report on wide-ranging topics, from public accountability, erring public officials, and controversial government projects.
“In this pandemic, Filipinos need a constant, reliable news source. That is why I am here at the government’s premier station,” Tulfo says.
He is happy that the state-run network’s general manager Katkat De Castro is herself a former journalist and producer.
“She encourages us to do what needs to be done to make our show at par with other mainstream programs,” Tulfo adds.
He explains that their group, dubbed as the Power 4, discusses how they can present topics in the best way possible before going on air. They want to lighten things up and become an inspiration to others.
Initial audience metrics shows the public is receptive and supportive of the rebranded PTV network.
“Keep watching us. Learn, be informed, and see how your taxes are used to improve lives through shows we bring you,” Tulfo ends.
